Supported independent living

Access around-the-clock support while living in a SIL shared house. Open the door to friends, a new community and independence.

Support, care and freedom under one roof

Supported independent living, or SIL for short, is a great option for people with a disability with higher support needs. It offers a safe and nurturing home environment where greater freedom is possible, but assistance is there when you or your loved one needs it.

At our HEDSS-supported living home in Newcastle, we help our residents with daily tasks, such as cooking and personal care and enable them to live as independently as possible. Importantly, we add heart – sharing smiles, laughs and life with our residents every day.

Who can access supported independent living?

Supported Independent living is for people with a disability who have SIL funding in their support plan. You can also access it if you live on your own, but other supports might be a better choice.

Happy client

I’ve been very happy with the support my brother has received from Gavin, Amie and their team over the last seven or so years they have been running his house. They were incredible in ensuring he got the support he required when he broke his hip a number of years ago and always keep me informed of any changes regarding his health or support needs. They also regularly arrange train trips for him, recently to Dungog on an old steam train, and he loved it.
